In the fly fishing world trout are king. We needed a trout graphic that stood out - so I drew it from the perspective a fisherman usually sees.
The Maori Trout design was inspired by the amazing art and fishing in New Zealand. One of my favorites from my time at Fishpond and one of our best selling hat and sticker designs.

I always though a drift boat would be a cool graphic for Fishpond. I drew this many times before I found the perspective I was looking for.
I created this woodblock print of a permit for Fishpond’s hats stickers and shirts.
In the great state of Montana, when water temps hit 73°F for three consecutive days, a “Hoot-Owl” restriction goes into affect. The “Hoot-Owl” closes down fishing between 2PM and midnight. This allows anglers to fish in the mornings, and gives trout a break during the warmest part of the day.
When drawing this design I hoped to show a river that people would explore and want to protect.
This was an idea that I came up with to help make people more considerate while wading during the spawn.
Bid bad ass trout for bad ass hats.

This design was printed on shirts using a simulated process.
For this design I wanted to incorporate some common lines in fly casting into the fishpond type.
